Hi, so following up on the post i made earlier today about the different species of fish i have had through the years, this is my post about the fish that i still currently have. I hope you liked that post with the photos and videos too. Allow me to get right on with this post and show you all the fish that i still look after.
My Current Fish
As i mentioned in the previous fish post of mine, my favorite type of fish to keep are soft water fish, from the Central American and South American part of the world, so it is no surprise to find out that the current aquarium i have, as i only have 1 set up running at the moment, it is a South / Central American themed tank. Have a read on to find out more about the fish in it and see some photos and videos of them too.
All of these fish i am going to talk about live in my 250L custom tank that i have set up in my living room. All of them get on well with each other and have been living happily for a good while now.
My Blue Acara
This beauty of a Central American fish is the third Cichlid i have had, the other 2 being the Keyhole Cichlid & Double Red Cacadu (mentioned in previous post). He comes up to the top of the tank each time for feeding and also comes over to you when viewing in the aquarium glass. He Loves all types of food and would eat all day.
My Spotted Raphael
This is the biggest of the catfish i currently have and what can i say, it is pretty clumsy, always swimming into my plants and uprooting them. For his size tho, he is not a bully in the tank at all and gets on very well with the other fish and catfish it is in with. Always comes shooting out at feeding time.
My Stripped Raphael
This catfish is a variant on my other Raphael, this catfish being stripped and the other one spotted in pattern. My one has a noticeable gill missing on one side of it which i can only imagine happened from another fish biting it when it was young, as it was already there when i got it. He lives happily and out of all my catfish in the tank, is the one that does not hide away as much and loves to swim about day and night.
My Chocolate Talking Catfish
This little catfish loves to bury itself under the sand to the point it is totally hidden. It will stay there completely still for hours on ends. It just minds its own business and never bothers with any of the other fish at all. When its feeding tho, this catfish can be easily seen coming out from his hide away.
My Rubbernose Pleco
This little one is perfectly happy in the 250L aquarium with the above mentioned tank mates, but he can be very grump in the wrong company. He used to be in another tank with my old Super Red Bristlenose Pleco (in photos further up this post), but they did not get on. He is happy in the current set up tho and has a taste for live bloodworms.
So that is all of the fish i currently have. I hope you enjoyed this entry to the SQ Post and feel free to leave any comments or questions below. I will be posting again later tonight also.
